Popular Pan-Asian Restaurant Signs Lease for Third Jacksonville Eatery
Jacksonville, FL (RestaurantNews.com) Beachgoers and foodies in Jacksonville will have a new destination in Jacksonville Beach next year. Bento Asian Kitchen + Sushi, a quick-casual pan-Asian restaurant, has signed a lease for a 3,000-square-foot space at 1230 Beach Blvd. This will mark the restaurant’s first and only beach location and will be the third Bento location in the Jacksonville area, with an expected opening date in summer 2019.
This Jacksonville Beach Bento location will be part of the upcoming Beach Plaza Outparcel, a new 10,000 square foot building that will be located just two miles from the beach in one of the most bustling retail corridors in Northeast Florida.
Based in Orlando and owned by brothers Jimmy and Johnny Tung, Bento currently has nine locations across Florida, including Southside and St. Johns Town Center in Jacksonville. The first Bento opened in Gainesville in 2002 and quickly gained a large following. Known for its expansive bento box offerings, sushi and poké bowls, and boba teas, Bento offers customers fresh, made to order food at an affordable price point.
In addition to the Jacksonville Beach location, future expansions are in the works in downtown St. Petersburg, Orlando, South Florida and Gainesville.
“We are thrilled to continue the expansion of Bento in Jacksonville and introduce the restaurant to Jax Beach as our first beach location in Florida,” said Bento co-owner Johnny Tung. “We feel our quick casual atmosphere, paired with a fresh, modern take on Asian cuisine, will be a perfect match for residents and beachgoers.”
Bento first opened in Jacksonville in 2009 at the St. Johns Town Center and the demand for more locations grew quickly. The owners take pride in each and every location they open, with each new restaurant having its own design and cool vibe.
